We are excited to announce that the 'housing / transport' programme that we negotiated last year is continuing well. 

Last year we asked the Director from the Village orphanage about keeping the children for another year and that we would contribute to their accommodation costs and pay for their transport weekly to the city for study and job experience.    We as a ministry were concerned about the 11 orphans graduating and where and how they would live once they returned to Rybinsk.  We know that some 'unsavoury' people stalk orphans and influence them in bad ways to do some pretty yucky stuff which causes the girls to get pregnant and the boys to end up in gaol.  Over 30% of orphans nationwide commit suicide within 2 months of leaving the orphanage. 

So far this year this ministry has been a great success.

The ladies from the church in Rybinsk continue to go out their weekly and conduct craft classes, life skill classes focussing on cooking and preparing healthy meals and also the men in the church go out from time to time to work with the boys to help them gain some very useful handy man skills.  We have also been conducting 'Love and Marriage' classes weekly with the older children and it is being well received.  All these lessons are having a great impact on the children and showing them weekly how much as a church that we love and care for them and are interested intimately in their lives.  Praise Him with me for the brothers and sisters of the 'Blagovest Church' in Rybisnk.  They are His hands and feet in that town and we rejoice to see them powering on for God.
